Troubling Star-sight.
Faint tingling sensations along her cheek roused Isabelle from her solitary contemplation. A gentle breeze closely stalked by a faint scent. Summer was coming to a close and with it, what had once had its time to bloom was slowly fading away. Lifting a tentative hand up off of the stone in which she sat, Isabelle guided a falling leaf down into her grasp. Tracing its surface, she harnessed what concentration she could muster and focused. Gradually, she could feel a flurry of sensations seeping into her consciousness through her fingertips. Not quite memories, but akin. Although she had absorbed similar histories from a countless number of greenery, the beauty of what she was shown still left her awestruck. The whispers of fate were dazzling. Unfortunately, it was not enough of a distraction; only causing her mind to further delve into contemplation over her own history and what she now knew could no longer come to pass.
As if a cold breeze had been stirred up, she shivered compulsively. No longer desiring to continue the connection, Isabelle began to relinquish control of the leaf over to the wind until she suddenly felt something alarming. Initially unfocused in her correspondence with nature, Isabelle now directed her senses toward a faint wisp of peril that had momentarily flashed by her. What she had felt laid within the echoes of time still yet unfolded. Smoldering embers dispersed. Violence and devastation spoken within close proximity before then fading away from her perception. Isabelle felt rage bubble up within her as the connection broke. The leaf within her grasp crumbled into ash, slowly dissolving into the wind to be reclaimed.
Though the light of the midday sun prevented the unacquainted from seeing the universe’s windows into eternity, Isabelle could still see the stars just as clearly now as in the dead of night. These troubling sensations demanded further research for which answers were arranged above her. Whatever it meant, she would not rest until its meaning was revealed. Afterall, it was an inescapable charge from fate that she would pursue until the very same wind eventually reclaimed her.
